Transfers

Sister Smeech, is gone.. :( My little gal! It feels weird.. like she's my child or something. hahaha! Sunday morning Presdient called, letting her know that her visa came in and she'd be heading off this morning to Baton Rouge for her flight Wednesday---Yay for her! But sad for Sister Aka and I.. We're remaining together :) It'll be fun!  We all had our moments of tears and excitement. Truly bitter-sweet.. Such an interesting feeling. We begin the down hill climb this week.. 6 more transfers left and I'll be comin home.. Its quite weird how fast time is flying.

Miracle at the Carwash!

Just when I'm getting defensive with our district leader, elder adame, over the phone because of our decrease in 'investigators with a baptismal date', Mario beeps in... "Hello, this is Sister Hislop..".....

Mario was at the laundromat/carwash we go to when we contacted him a few weeks ago.. He was there today and took the incentive to call us. We met him there only about an hour ago and had a powerful lesson with him right ourside the shop on the dirty sidewalk/street.. We introduced him to the restored gospel of jesus christ and told him through his efforts in following jesus christ's example by being baptized by someone holding that proper authority, he and his deceased wife can be on the path of being together forever. Mario has a baptismal date for the end of may depending on his work schedule, he's anxious to get to church as soon as his work will permit him.

He's been wondering where his wife is at this time...
I felt impressed to go talk to him a couple of weeks ago because he was laughing at us while we were having fun racing against the time while we were washing our car.. haha-- I put the hose down for a moment while my companions finished and I grabbed the first card I saw.. a truth restored card.. "can our family be together after we die..?" Perfect.. The lord has a hand in the small and simple things. The card obviously had an affect on him, accompanied with our testimonies.. He told us of his wife's passing not long ago and his questions about life.. He's 54, from texas and doesn't read or speak the best english.. through the gift of tongues we were all able to understand one another.. the spirit is so amazing!!! And only a few weeks later he called us.

The Lord has seen our extra efforts through mighty prayer, dilligent effort in keeping the commandments and our fasting. We just completed a tiring fast only yesterday.. :) and one the week before!! The Lord brings forth miracles when we do our part folks!!! I have witnessed it! We are so happy and alive with excitement today!! We'll keep you posted on the miracle of Mario! :)

Rain and Piggly Wiggly

Some of the positive things this past week consisted of us playing in the downpouring rain last monday :)

Store contacting at the PIGGLY WIGGLY in Mamou,
(YEP! I finally found one)

Setting up a media board on saturday in front of the DeRidder Walmart to help the elders :) Great fun!
I can't count the loads of people we talked to. We plan to do that again here in Oakdale. You can even see me accquiring a mobile cart for an old lady in need :) hahahaha! I love being myself while sharing the gospel--saturday morning was the most fun we had this week. Too bad it didn't help us in our area but worry not, something amazing is coming, I just know it. Satan works the hardest right before something great is about to happen!
